Connect & Create

A weekly community play programme for low-income families with young children to promote social-emotional well-being, positive parent-child relationships, and a network of support.

In partnership with MSF ComLink+* and funded by the Crocodile Foundation, Connect & Create is a community play programme designed to nurture meaningful relationships and holistic development among low-income families with young children in Bedok and Geylang Serai.

Through engaging weekly breakfast and play sessions, enriching group outings, and parenting support initiatives, the programme fosters social-emotional competencies in children while strengthening family bonds and a network of support. By providing a safe space, children develop essential interpersonal skills, while caregivers gain opportunities to connect with their children meaningfully without added pressure on their time or resources.

Beyond play, Connect & Create aims to build a lasting network of support for families living in public rental flats, who often face financial hardship and social exclusion. By integrating these families into a community of care, the programme helps reduce stress, promote resilience, and create opportunities for children to thrive.

With the support of community partners and volunteers since its launch in 2024, Connect & Create ensures that every child — regardless of background — has access to the joy, learning, and connections that play can bring.

*ComLink+ is a national programme that aims to uplift lower-income families with children towards stability, self-reliance and social mobility. Under ComLink+, dedicated family coaches work with families to co-develop action plans, coach and motivate them towards achieving their goals, and help them better navigate social support services.

We welcome community organisations and social service agencies to recommend eligible families to join us for this programme.
